Title: Light of Xaryxis: The Edge
Description: The crew of the Second Wind, a living ship made from the very wood and roots of a treant, have been tasked by their landlord - Commodore Krux - to set sail towards the edge of the gallaxy after the giff (hippo-folk) brought aboard an elven prisoner for questioning.
The astral elf is from the Xaryxian Empire and has revealed they have a system of seeding planets to replenish their own star. Krux knows of a counter-force that is gathering in a universe system called Doomspace, but needs directions to get there. Thus he's charged his ship to go to an astral tower at the edge of the universe for directions!
Surely all will go to plan.
This scenario is perfect for newbies to Dungeons and Dragons 5E, offering combat and roleplaying opportunities. It is Part 5 in an ongoing storyline that has taken fantasy characters from the Forgotten Realms of Toril into outer space ("Wildspace") and the Spelljammer portion of the 5E system, though there is no commitment necessary beyond the night of this one-shot. While your characters will likely have no knowledge of it, players can know that Spelljammer takes its inspirations from things such as Treasure Planet and Flash Gordon.
New characters may now either be from the Forgotten Realms or Wildspace using the Astral Adventurer's Guide.
Character Level: 6
Starting gold: Whatever is provided by Background + 100g
Stat Generation: Standard Array (15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8) or point buy
Magic Item: 1 Uncommon or 2 Common (if newly joining)
NOTE: We will be starting at 7:00pm, so if you are new to the game and need help with understanding your character, please arrive at least 30-45 minutes in advance.
